Hope Lodge is an historic house, built between 1745 and 1748 by wealthy Quaker Samuel Morris.  Hope Lodge is an excellent example of early Georgian architecture  The house was used by Continental troops during the 1777 Philadelphia Campaign.  Ownership was transferred to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in 19 57.

The Samuel Morris rooms are furnished with 18th century Colonial Period pieces. Other rooms feature the later owners' fine collection of decoratve items from the Colonial Revival period.

The mansion tour has stairs.  If this is a problem please let us know when you register - Hope Lodge says they can accommodate people who have trouble with steps.

We will take  the 1 pm guided tour; the fee is $5 for seniors.

Please register here on line, or at 267-444-4507 (M-F, 9-6), so we can let the tour guide know how many to expect.

We will meet at the library to carpool at 12:15, or if you prefer, you can meet us at Hope Lodge at 1.
